Rel Linqala Drakona (ʊʅɂ ɂȷɤʚ̆ɂɔ ɒʊ̆ɞɷɤɔ)
§3 Alphabet (WIP)
The Standard Drakona alphabet consists of 19 letters. Vowels are in bold face.
The current arrangement of the Drakona alphabet is known as the “adb” arrangement; the letters have been arranged in this style since the inception of the script. When transliterated, they are also arranged this way.
Unlike many alphabets, Drakona is a purely small-caps based alphabet. Letters in the alphabet do not have capitals, and whether or not the alphabet ever had them in the first place remains a debated subject. Modern Drakona punctuation is the same as in Latin script—these having been adopted through influence from the other Equo-Kryfonic languages. Previously, there existed separate punctuation marks for Drakona, but reforms in 1751 eliminated them from use.
§3.1 Diacritics (WIP)
The Drakona alphabet is supplemented by two diacritics, the saalboka (˘), and the zayalgat (˚), which were introduced to the alphabet around the time that Ra and Ne were added to the Drakona alphabet (about 940 years ago). The former is used in a similar fashion to shorthand: when a series of letters occurs that is the same as the name of a letter, the saalboka is placed above it. Thus, Adborthos is rendered ɔɒʋ̆ɾ̆ɛ instead of ɔɒʋɷʊɾʌɷɛ because bor and tho are letter names, and a saalboka can be placed above them to indicate this. The latter is used to indicate a held vowel, and theoretically can be used to represent aa, ee, ii, oo, and yy. However, in Standard Drakona, only aa and oo occur with large frequency. The held vowels ee, ii, and yy typically only occur in conjugated verbs or place names.
§3.2 History of the Alphabet (WIP)
The original Drakona alphabet consisted of only thirteen letters: a, d, s, t/th, y, e, k, j, l, o, m, i, z, and p. In these early days, as neither the diacritics or cheap writing materials existed, words were written out completely and were significantly more angular than their modern variants – in fact, early Drakonic’s shapes heavily resemble those of runes.
As time progressed, the development of better writing utensils and paper-like materials allowed for shapes that were curved in nature, eventually leading to the modern and extremely curvy script. Over the course of several hundred years, more and more letters were also tacked on, giving Standard Drakona its modern 19 letter alphabet and 2 diacritics.
§4 Phonology
§4.1 Vowels
Drakonic vowels
Standard Drakona has eight vowel sounds, seven of which are native and one of which is an introduced sound. The seven natives are /ɑ/ as in father, /æ/ as in trap, /ɒ/ as in pod, /ɪ/ as in lid, /i/ as in see, /ɛ/ as in bet, /u/ as in food, and the introduced sound is /ʌ/ as in mud. This distinction is unique to Standard Drakona; the /ʌ/ sound is found natively in Edazoran Drakona. In addition, Standard Drakona has two semivowels: /j/ and /w/.
Drakona has phonemic distinction between short and long vowels, although there are only three long vowels in Standard Drakona.
SHORT LONG
/ɑ æ ɛ i ɪ ɒ (ʌ)/ /ɑː iː uː/
< ɔ ɔ ʅ ȷ ȷ ɷ ɔ > < ɔ̊ ʅ̊/ȷ̊ ɷ̊ >
Predictably, due to only having four true vowels to represent seven short vowels and three long ones, Drakona is heavily reliant on using a single letter to represent multiple sounds. < ɔ > is used for four sounds, < ȷ >, and < ɷ > are used for three sounds, and < ʅ > is used for two. Zayalgati letters—that is, letters modified with the zayalgat—are not counted as separate letters, but rather variants of the parent letter, hence why they count towards the totals.
The semivowel /j/ also has a short and long distinction. Short y < ɩ > is used to represent /j/, while long y < ɩ̊ > becomes the long vowel /iː/. The semivowel /w/, which can only be rendered as < ɷʅ >, is a relatively rare phoneme and does not have a long form.
Each short vowel in Drakona corresponds to a long vowel, with the exception of the semivowel /w/. This correspondence can be summarized as follows:
Both types of vowels may occur in a syllable, although in closed syllables (syllables in which coda occur) short vowels are much more common than long vowels.
§4.2 Diphthongs
Drakonic dipthongs:aɪ̯ eɪ̯ ɔɪ̯ oʊ̯ juː (i̯uː)
Standard Drakona has five diphthongs, /aɪ̯/, /eɪ̯/, /ɔɪ̯/, /oʊ̯/, and /juː/ (or /i̯uː/). The final of these five diphthongs is uncommon, and is only found in the trigraph yoo. These five diphthongs are as in Kaila, Veila, Edazoya, Nenathosin, and Lyoonos. Their equivalents in English are pie, pay, boy, go, and you.
§4.3 Consonants
Drakonic Consonants
Although Drakona has 22 consonants, only 18 of these can be represented with unaltered or single letters. /m/ only occurs with a saalbokasi Om, /ŋ/ only occurs in the combination ng, /f/ only occurs in the combination ph, and /w/ only occurs in the combination oe. The two post-alveolar fricatives /ʃ/ and /ʒ/ are represented by the same letters as the two alveolar fricatives /s/ and /z/. All of Drakona’s consonants are found in English, and are pronounced the same way as they are in English.
§5 Phonotactics
The syllable structure of Drakona is (C)3V(C)3, although few (if any) syllables in Drakona actually meet the maximum. As noted below, codas in Drakona are generally very short—if they occur at all—meaning that three consonant codas are seldom seen.
§5.1 Onset
A syllable in Drakona can have any of the following as its onset:
§5.2 Nucleus
Nuclei in Drakona can only consist of a vowel sound or a diphthong, unlike English where certain consonants such as /l/ can form the nucleus of a word.
§5.3 Coda
Due to the way syllables are formed in Drakona, codas are generally very short, if they occur at all. A typical Drakona coda is only one or two letters, although larger codas are possible. Some codas are capable of being extended through verb conjugation (verbs ending in –i) or the inclusion of a suffix such as –s; however, most cannot be extended and simply become syllables unto themselves. The possible codas in Drakona are as follows:
§5.4 Syllable-level rules
• Onset and coda are optional.
• The letter y almost invariably follows a pattern of representing the diphthong /aɪ̯/ in the final position of a syllable, and the vowel /iː/ or semivowel /j/ in initial and medial positions.
o y can make /iː/ in final position when preceded by the letters g or k. In a small number of cases, y may also sound like /iː/ after d, l, om, t, or another y.
• The digraph qh is always pronounced as /k/, and cannot end a syllable. The letter q is pronounced as /k/ except when followed by an s, and can end a syllable.
§5.5 Syllabification
Syllable breaks occur in four positions:
• After a prefix, as in syogetaya [s.jɔ.gɛ.taɪ̯.ɑ].
• After a vowel or vowel sound, as in eyetotoneje [eɪ̯.jɛ.toʊ̯.toʊ̯.neɪ̯.jɛ].
• After the first letter in a sequence of three consonants, as in adbhos [ɑd.boʊ̯s].
• Failing any of the above three conditions, three letters or sounds after the previous syllable, as in Edazoya [iː.dɑ.zɔɪ̯.jɑ] and ophophel [oʊ̯.foʊ̯.fɛl].
Syllabification can very occasionally occur irregularly in certain words, such as lynd and words which include it such as Drakonsilynd because of the sounds which make it up. However, cases such as this are isolated and generally only affect singular forms. The plural form of lynd – lyndi – for example, is not irregular.
Footnotes
2 /fr/ is rare in Drakona, and with a few exceptions only occurs in loanwords such as phraza.
3 /sd/ is rare in Drakona, and only occurs in Kryfonic loanwords.
4 /sz/ only occurs in Kryfonic loanwords
5 /skr/ is very uncommon, and only occurs in ten or so Drakona words.
6 /n/ + /g/ becomes /ŋ/ unless otherwise overridden by a syllable break.

we're back with a kind of word-of-the-day thing
today:
ɩȷʅɝʌɾʅɞɔ (yiephteka)
[ˈjiˌɛf.tɛ.kɑ]; ʏᴇᴇ-ehf-teh-ka
meaning: radio, radio broadcast
literally, "wave tech," made up of ɩȷʅɝʌ (yieph) meaning wave, and ɾʅɞɔ (teka) which is a shortening of the word ɾʅɞʌɔ̆ɩɔ (tekhalya). the word can be singular or plural, and is used to refer to both the object radio, and the messages sent by them. yiephteka can also be used as a verb, meaning "to broadcast radio" or "to send a radio message"

ʋɛʆʅ̆ (bejen)
[ˈbɛ.jɛn]; ʙᴇʜ-yehn
meaning: bomb, to bomb
bejen is a relatively simple word to parse, as it does not have any morphological features. originally used as just a noun referring to a bomb, the word has also morphed into a verb meaning the same thing.

and another since i missed yesterday
ʌɷ̆ɔȷɾʅ (homaite)
[ˈhoʊ.maɪ.teɪ]; ʜᴏʜ-my-tay
meaning: white, Homaite
the word homaite is a noun and a proper noun which was originally used as the Drakonic word for white and has now come to mean someone who adheres to the ideology of Homaitism. Homaitism is categorized by far-left wing policies including the abolition of land ownership, large-scale government social nets, and socialized medicine and education. although both definitions are still used, the modern and preferred Drakona word for "white" is (ʌ̆ɔȷɾɔ) hoaita

Re: Rel Linqala Drakona (ʊʅɂ ɂȷɤʚ̆ɂɔ ɒʊ̆ɞɷɤɔ)
white was the color they used to represent themselves in contrast to the green used by the ruling adborthosi monarchy and upper classes, and in part it symbolically represented the lack of power, money, and leadership the lower classes had until the monarchy was thrown out by the Homaitist revolution in 1679Flammarcos wrote:owhaito piggu.

Re: Rel Linqala Drakona (ʊʅɂ ɂȷɤʚ̆ɂɔ ɒʊ̆ɞɷɤɔ)
both were eventually reflected in the flag of the first adborthos republic by the way
