lol i forget why the fuck does the BBC still do this there are many, far better ways to run a channel that has no ads that do not involve forcing a 140+ pound licensing fee on everybody who has a television (see: HBO)

We have essentially the same thing in Ireland for RTÉ rather than the BBC.
The TV license, if you have any sort of TV or a device capable of connecting to the Internet then you need to pay it.
