for one, aggregation means "collection into an unorganized whole" so there is no 'taking a bunch of differing opinions and putting them into one', you can still see each individual review, a number is just given to represent the general accord on the quality of a film without having to read every review.

secondly, if you disagree with there being one number representing a lot of different reviewers with varying opinions, you may also believe that there should be no consensus for votes going to certain presidential candidates because voters may also have differing opinions.

unless you're talking about a technical issue with the site itself, you can't really blame a review aggregator for the kind of ratings it gives, considering its only job is to act as a compiler of top reviewers for a given media
