It's very disheartening as a black man of color to witness my so-called white allies talking about "burden of proof" and "lack of evidence." Those are creations of white lies. The fact is that Michael Brown was a beautiful black CHILD who did nothing more than lash out against the system of oppression. The same system of oppression that forced him to take some mere food from a convenient store to survive and feed his family. The same system of oppression that made him attack the so-called "peace officer" in order to keep breathing.

Similar to how we know that black men need affirmative action in schools to overcome years of oppression, it's racist to hold us to the same behavioral norms. We view police as mortal threats, and rightly so.
