Why not just make it where the gun doesn't melt in the first place? If you can make a lightning shooting gun I don't see how it'd be much harder to make a resilient gun that can actually handle its ammo

materials which can regularly handle being exposed to 50,000*F temperatures are some pretty expensive shit

then why bother wasting resources on mass producing quickly expended weapons

because the weapons themselves are cheap as fuck but can annihilate with east

it's kind of like nazi germany's panzerfaust: the things were only good for about one shot but they were devastating and could be easily replaced because they could be mass produced
