Re: E3 general
i have strong hopes for metroid and star fox
after the last nintendo e3 was basically splatoon hype, i'm hoping they'll add more things to the table this time
microsoft is probably going to do some halo 5 shit and a tech demo of blops 3
dunno what sony's got, but it's probably good. sony has been going strong lately.
fallout 4 is just a given. i mean. who isn't hype about that?
and yeah, valve needs to push new games.

Re: E3 general
I'm hoping EA shows that they've actually been using the Star Wars licenses for something besides Battlefront since they're the only ones with access to it. At least a couple teasers would be nice.

I hope they make a new game like Tie Fighter where it's just piloting vehicles n' shitApprentipants wrote:I'm hoping EA shows that they've actually been using the Star Wars licenses for something besides Battlefront since they're the only ones with access to it. For Nintendo,I'm looking forward to see what Platinum Games is up to, Retro might do something new, A metroid not involving Yoshio Sakamoto would be the bomb, and We already know that there's a 3DS port of Hyrule Warriors coming,
All I care about from Sony is KH3 and it's probably gonna be as good as the rest of the series, and I just want them to get done announcing the Frozen world everyone know's is happening
as for XBone, Scalebound is only interesting because of it's developer for me.
I expect nothing from Valve, mainly because they already said they aren't going.

Re: E3 general
i don't have any faith in battlefront right now to be honest
all we've seen is a trailer supposedly made in-engine. whoop de doo. you can make something look nice in the game engine, but that says nothing about the gameplay. it's just a movie, essentially. like how the tf2 shorts in sfm don't really explain what gameplay is like. also concerning is the fact that EA and dice are making it. a money grubbing publisher notorious for basically hating their IPs and making horrid amounts of dlc and microtransactions to the point where some of their games, at full price, cost less than the DLC for them - by a long-ass shot. there's also a scary rumor going around that the ship-based combat won't be part of the game by default. you know. the best fucking part of battlefront?
but i at least hope that it'll look and play nicely on launch, unlike most recent dice games. maybe the reason those games started out like shit was because they were working on this game? hopefully.

That's not even the worst of shit I've heard.
I think it's been all but confirmed that AT-AT's are basically a QTE (which ruins a lot of the fun of being in total control of such powerful shit). The other thing that really ticked me off was that Clone's and stuff won't be in by default, but will be "Free DLC". In addition to this, there's only 20 vs 20 on some modes, which pales in comparison to Battlefront 2's 32 vs. 32 on ALL modes. Speaking of modes, less of those too.
This all reeks of EA Nickle and Diming Jewery.

this is a nice wall of text i would expect straight out of an /r/gaming comment on a meme that says "EA - LITERALLY HITLER"
Re: E3 general
im not even gonna try to talk about the EA stuff but unlike most recent dice games apparently translates to one (correct me if im wrong here apprentice but i dont think i am) because hardline came out great and thats all they've released since bf4
Re: E3 general
both of those came out with incredibly shitty launch bugs

Re: E3 general
Hardline's launch was pretty smooth actually, only major issues were balancing ones, which is as it should be. Granted, DICE was mostly overseeing development for Hardline, they didn't do much with actual hands on stuff because of Battlefront. BF4's launch was awful, even by Battlefield launch standards; 3 and BC2 were at least more stable than their betas , and didn't take most of their life cycle to become good games.
They already said this Battlefront is a reboot and "reimagining" built from the ground up to be different from the old titles, because that's definitely what everyone wanted. As a result, I'm no longer thinking of it as a Battlefront game but as general Star Wars game so I'm not super disappointed when they show gameplay this week. It does still at least have the potential to be good and I'm remaining optimistic because I really want to hope the people who know how to make good gameplay didn't all leave after BC2.
That and I just want another good Star Wars game to get excited for again. RIP 1313.

Nintendo starting things off with the World Championship and a few early announcements. The championship is oddly enthralling to watch, it's pretty entertaining.
