at random while i'm using my computer, some weird-ass stuff keeps happening where a random chrome/ie window opens and installs this browser hijack shit called search.protectedio

I haven't been able to get to the root cause of this stuff but it happens once every few weeks or so
the only websites I visit are youtube and gmail and i haven't downloaded any suspicious freeware, anything like that

what's going on

check msconfig for bullshit starting up in your startup section

check chrome or whatever for addons that you didnt install and get rid of em

download this and it'll automagically scan everything running on your computer on virustotal and give you a little more power than task manager does

get some better antivirus software than what you currently have

i prefer malwarebytes but oaky may know some better shit for antivirus

i had the some exact problem and malwarebytes didn't detect dick, i never found the root of the problem so i just wiped my hardrive
