our memberlist is the absolute fucking worst metric by which to judge whether or not "half of our people have quit," not least because it's neither an accurate metric (doesn't account for alts, one off accounts, users who lurk, users who pop in and out, etc.) nor one which matters

and again, your entire basis here is fundamentally flawed, because even though "half" of our "people" may have quit, the overwhelming majority of what you consider "people" here by using our memberlist never contributed or contributed infrequently and never mattered to the forum

all of the people who do matter -- statistically speaking, culturally speaking, and the likes of that -- sans mega are still here and still post
