explain the supreme court to me

(the newest judge, justice kagen, is not pictured as this was in 2009 before stevens retirement)

and why is your court full of catholics

because most americans are religious

the odds of getting an irreligious justice is tiny

why does this court have as much power as a congress and a president?

still odd that conservatives didnt appoint a protestant or southern baptist justice

maybe a mormon at least, but it just strikes me odd how a majority-protestant lineage of presidents (started after kennedy) appointed people of the same religion (with the exception of the jews)

what's the point of having a supreme court if it doesn't have equal power to the other branches of government, tomoko?

they appoint by party not by religion

government is very nepotistic so thats why i imagined more baptists would be put on the court

the us government is set up in such a way that the three branches of government can balance the other two branch's powers

you should know this already if you became a citizen legally

don't they ask you something like this when you immigrate
