yes which is exactly what made her likable

it says something about a show where most if not all the antagonists are more likable than the main cast

it's because they're not all fucking mary sues and they're usually more relatable than the actual main characters because you can actually empathize with them since they're not completely infallible like the main cast

unfortunately hasbro has been systematically fucking them over since the end of season two, and in that time they have literally redeemed every single antagonist the show has ever had with the exceptions of nightmare moon and chrysalis

they didn't even spare fucking diamond tiara, the most irrelevant and yet probably best recurring antagonist in the entire fucking show, which is unreal

in order i think it went something to the effect of
>trixie (got a whole episode, redeemed completely and fucked off to a better life)
>barbara "babs" seed (got cucked by diamond and co and turned into a bitch, then turned right back and within six episodes was back to being COUSIIIIIIIIN that shouldn't even be a character)
>discord (got more or less cucked by flutter, wanted to go back to being a man with tirek but tirek fucked him over too so now he's basically a pet)
>gilda (gypsy episode reveals gryphons are patriotic race of people with nowhere to go or something, gilda quits being a total asshole and loses the only thing that made her a decent character)
>diamond tiara (got cucked by the CMC when they finally got their shitty tramp stamps, turned out she's an asshole because of her mom or something fucking stupid like that)
>the stock antagonist they introduced in S5 which had the 1984 intro (i think this fucker's name was starlight glimmer and she's basically a communist, but the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP saved her or something retarded like that)

so they really have just absolutely raped the pool of antagonists at this point to where it's completely pointless to even get invested in the show

the systematic ruination of every good aspect of FiM that there ever was really does get my goat because it could have so easily been avoided if they hadn't pulled the absolute shitshow that was the season 2 finale and if bronies had called it for what it was instead of tuning in

princess my-name-is-retarded and shining "that brother who you never told anybody about" armor weren't bad ideas on paper but the way they executed them was so fucking horrible and random because the former was blatantly a marketing grab that bronies should have just told hasbro to fuck off

instead, they watched and embraced her and it basically gave hasbro the greenlight to go all out with the "pander to the children while trying to stay edgy and more matture" approach and as a result the show is so heavily stacked in favor of the protagonists and the canon is so badly raped and illogical thanks to what they railroaded in as a result that what was formerly a pretty interesting concept is just fucking dull since you basically know what's going to happen 25 episodes in advance

it doesn't exactly help either that hasbro seems to want to have its cake in regards to maturity and keeping bronies interested while eating it too in the form of keeping the show what it's intended to be: a thirty minute long commercial for their toyline

all in all the whole situation is just a complete clusterfuck and it's so fucking obnoxious because i guarantee you a lot of what G4 had to offer is going to get the scorched earth treatment when hasbro finally switches into G5 mode

Star Wars the clone wars is a much better children show than fim would ever hope to be

maybe for its time yes the clone wars was a good children's show but god does it suck in comparison to what CN has to offer now

clone wars still wasn't as good as those 5 minute shorts that they made back in (iirc) 2003
