ned flanders isn't the "memesiest"(what?) but he's the definitive best dad not just to rod and todd, but to everyone in general, (maybe it's just because he's christian?) in the simpsons movie (it's up to debate whether it is canon or not) he treats bart simpson like his very own son when no-one else would.

ned flanders is a good dad, but so is hugh. the point is their outlandish behavior, not their quality as parents. ned flanders is crazy popular outside of the anglosphere because people don't realize he's a caricature of an actual type of person, so even though he seems more normal to us he's really as wacky as the rest of them.
