1) because they're required for the classes i have to take
2) you can't get them cheap anywhere and most of them are college exclusive editions
3) because COF and the school i go to don't cover the textbook costs although they cover everything else
4) my mom has opted that she'll take the money out of my bank account so even if none of the above applied i'd still be paying for them
