Re: #MAKEAMERICASICKAGAIN
just because he eats fast food all the time doesn't mean he's going to look unhealthy it's more about how much you eat than what you eat
also he's been unhealthy since before he was 70 lol

outside of that, most insurance programs are abject garbage which don't help or don't cover the people obamacare does

Re: #MAKEAMERICASICKAGAIN
this is because the ACA has made it so that you can't get assfucked cuz you have a preexisting condition and because the ACA has made it so that lifetime limits on your insurance can't really be imposed anymoreCongo Jack wrote:im not covered by obamacare and my family doesn't have to sell organs to keep me alive

the moment ACA is repealed that goes away and companies can pretty much tell you to fuck off because you have CF

Re: #MAKEAMERICASICKAGAIN
just because your plan predates the ACA doesn't mean it's going to survive lol insurance companies aren't these immortal entities which permanently offer things

Republicans Even More Clueless on Obamacare in Private Than in Public
The history of the development of the Republican alternative to Obamacare since the beginning of the health-care debate, in 2009, has been an endless loop of loud promises that a full plan will be announced soon, followed by quiet admissions that it will not. Seventeen days ago, Donald Trump promised a vote to repeal the law “probably some time next week” with a vote for a replacement “very quickly or simultaneously, very shortly thereafter.” At a meeting in Philadelphia yesterday, Trump and his House Republican allies produced no agreement on a plan. If there is a consensus, it is that there will be no replacement plan at all.
Representative Greg Walden, a key leader of the House Republican efforts on health care, tells Julie Rovner, “There’s no single fix. There’s no single plan.” Representative Marsha Blackburn touted bills to limit medical malpractice lawsuits and to allow the sale of state-regulated insurance across state lines. Neither of these proposals would have any significant impact on insurance coverage. If Obamacare is repealed, this would leave the individual-health-insurance market a smoldering crater.
Republicans are portraying the lack of a plan as a philosophical aversion to lengthy legislation. “If you’re waiting for another 2,700-page bill to emerge, you’re going to have to wait until the sun doesn’t come up, because that’s not how we’re going to do it,” says Walden. You may not need 2,700 pages of legislative text. But you can’t blow up the health-care system and replace it with a series of piecemeal measures. Any real plan to provide even crappy coverage — let alone the better, more affordable coverage Trump has repeatedly promised — is going to need to be paid for. Making those trade-offs means figuring out some big-picture strategy for where the money will come from.

Behind closed doors, Republican lawmakers fret about how to repeal Obamacare
Leaked audio reveals Republicans are in utter disarray on Obamacare repeal
PHILADELPHIA — Republican lawmakers aired sharp concerns about their party’s quick push to repeal the Affordable Care Act at a closed-door meeting Thursday, according to a recording of the session obtained by The Washington Post.
The recording reveals a GOP that appears to be filled with doubts about how to make good on a long-standing promise to get rid of Obamacare without explicit guidance from President Trump or his administration. The thorny issues lawmakers grapple with on the tape — including who may end up either losing coverage or paying more under a revamped system — highlight the financial and political challenges that flow from upending the current law.
Senators and House members expressed a range of concerns about the task ahead: how to prepare a replacement plan that can be ready to launch at the time of repeal; how to avoid deep damage to the health insurance market; how to keep premiums affordable for middle-class families; even how to avoid the political consequences of defunding Planned Parenthood, the women’s health-care organization, as many Republicans hope to do with the repeal of the ACA.
[In private meeting, Pence vows ‘full’ probe into voter fraud claims]
“We’d better be sure that we’re prepared to live with the market we’ve created” with repeal, said Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif.). “That’s going to be called Trumpcare. Republicans will own that lock, stock and barrel, and we’ll be judged in the election less than two years away.”
Leaked audio reveals Republicans are in utter disarray on Obamacare repeal
When congressional Republicans went off to Philadelphia for a retreat this week, they hoped to make at least some progress toward a consensus about how to proceed with repealing and replacing Obamacare.
However, secret recordings of closed-door discussions at the retreat obtained by the Washington Post’s Mike DeBonis reveal that the party remains divided, uncertain, and deeply concerned about how to move forward.
It’s long been clear that there are a great many unsettled questions regarding the legislative and policy details of the GOP’s repeal effort. These include:
How quickly should repeal go into effect?
What, exactly, would the replacement be — can Republicans come up with a replacement that would be affordable for sick people who need insurance?
Should Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion be repealed?
Should the rest of Medicaid be transformed into a “block grant,” program as Paul Ryan has long supported, which would almost surely mean major reductions in the number of people it serves?
Should an Obamacare repeal bill also defund Planned Parenthood?
Does Donald Trump’s administration have a plan, or can his aides offer any more specifics about what they want policy-wise?

Cruz: Americans will 'tar and feather' GOP if premiums go up
in case you weren't aware republicare doesn't do anything to stop rising premiums because that is an issue independent of obamacare or their shitty replacement so they're pretty fucked on this note
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz predicted on Sunday that Americans will quickly turn against Republicans if repealing Obamacare causes insurance premiums to rise even further.
"I've got to tell you, if Republicans hold a big press conference and pat ourselves on the back that we've repealed Obamacare and everyone's premiums keep going up, people will be ready to tar and feather us in the streets, and quite rightly," Cruz told CBS' John Dickerson.
The Texas senator said he met with President Trump, House Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, on Saturday to discuss the possibility of repealing more key elements of Obamacare.
