the roman testudo formation might be a nice way to keep yourself safe from fire although most protection gear is made of thermoplastics like uhmwpe nylon and polycarbonate which will melt

yeah i dont think the roman testudo works for fires unless you've got something that doesn't burn or melt under the extreme heat and direct flame it would be exposed to
