here's a pretty good guideline:

threads: does anyone actually want to discuss the subject? if not, put that shit in fucking hqs or don't discuss it at all

individual posts: does your post in some way contribute to, inform, amuse or help the thread, or failing that, at least not be completely and utterly inane? if not, it goes in hwyd or you don't post it at all

about 99% of my threads go in hqs and even then i try to make them worthwhile

and my post here, for example, i was asking why i did not take part in the elections at all
