it basically varies by state and locality, but usually for highschool it goes test on concept, test on concept, test on concept, midterm, test on concept, test on concept, test on concept, final (with standardized testing thrown somewhere in between and SAT/ACT testing somewhere between the 10th and 12th grade mark) and then in college either that method or just midterm, final
