i believe those aren't mapped to anything by default unless you had the software that was bundled with the computer it was once included with. you can still assign commands to these keys with most modern desktop environments on operating systems such as linux, and i assume you could on windows with some additional software.

it's tailored towards late 90s/early 2000s internet usage, so the former key can be tied to the IM or IRC client of your choice, and the latter can be mapped by the user to whatever webpage they desire. although really, you could assign them to just about anything if you really wanted to.

I had one of those for a long time

much to my surprise, the majority of custom keys weren't even present in linux, even when running xev for testing. there is some software that is meant to allow mapping to these particular keys, but those projects were unsupported for quite some time and failed to compile from source.

the keys do work under windows with at least one program, such as keytweak (which is also unsupported, but still functional under modern versions of windows. it's a simple application that adds keyboard bindings to the registry)

it is worth mentioning that this program is quite limited compared to what linux could allow for. while i was able to map the keys to perform specific tasks with keytweak, i was not able to assign further specific commands (i.e. having the web browser launch a specific webpage). mind you, this is my first attempt using this type of software with windows, so hopefully there is a better alternative.

for the meantime, it'll be my main keyboard on my windows computer, as my 68 key mechanical keyboard is a little bit impractical. the feel of the keys is quite pleasant, better than most modern rubber dome keyboards imo.

to sum it up, linux only recognizes a couple of the miscellaneous keys. same with windows, but windows does have software that compensates for that.

wish i did, but it's just a shelf for storing some of my items



for the meantime, have some thicc (need to retrofit a power supply for it though, original psu has an obscure IC that's failed and a replacement is close to the cost of a new power supply)
