this has been policy for like two months and they've already rescinded it because it's fucking stupid L M A O

who would have guessed that you can't really run the government too well or any of its programs when you can't hire people to positions unless they're military positions or national security based?

now granted the original order only lasted for 90 days but the fact that they aren't renewing it tells you how incredibly successful this 'hiring freeze' has been (spoiler: it hasn't helped and has actually been detrimental to pretty much every part of government)

bro outside of the probably 20 or so broadly interpreted rights given to the government in the constitution (because some amendments have little if anything to do with rights) literally everything else goes to the states so unless you want some articles of confederation shit this is pretty much the best you're getting

the governments gotten too big for its britches

we already tried keeping government organically small and it turned out so catastrophically that the US didn't function as a nation until it explicitly got rid of the thing keeping its government organically small

and that was when the US was a literal backwater nation which people only gave a shit about because of colonialism

nowadays we're a world superpower and have 324 million people within our borders with over a million new people entering every year

what you are suggesting is impossible and impractical in the modern day and age and would hurt america's standing in the world tremendously
