there's no "anime studies" class dude it's just "rhetoric on anime" as one class in the analysis/critical theory department
besides i guarantee you anime gets analyzed more often than all of western tv and there's way more western tv than anime

so it's even less impressive than i first guessed as a field of study? also lmbo people analyze western cartoons all the time it's probably the subject of countless papers written through all grades and levels of schooling
