The Murdochs have decided Bill O’Reilly’s 21-year run at Fox News will come to an end. According to sources briefed on the discussions, network executives are preparing to announce O’Reilly’s departure before he returns from an Italian vacation on April 24. (Update: Parent company 21st Century Fox announced at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday that O’Reilly “will not be returning to the Fox News Channel.”)

for those of you not in the know bill o'reilley is kind of fucking stupid and has a history of alleged and probable sexual assault dating as far back as 2004 and in part because of this he lost about half of his sponsors this week, hence why he just got shitcanned

for some more concrete numbers here, o'reilley made something to the tune of about 180m for fox news in advertiser bucks in 2015 so basically imagine losing half of that + 13 million dollars in settlements surrounding his sexual history
