speaking on the game's behalf, despite it being infected by the inane majority of tumblr, a lot of the technical stuff behind it's actually pretty cool

toby fox used ms paint to make the sprite work of the game

(not sure if this includes effects or not but still)

for a guy that uses ms paint to sprite shit out, i guess this gives me a bit more faith to work on the things i want without needing an upgrade to paint.net

and the ost's pretty kick ass (he made it all in some really old ass version of fl studio)

i thought some of the tracks came from some other artists or

like the title track with that guitar shit and its raining somewhere else

i'm not sure

i don't really pay much attention to this game anyways

concept art for undertale is fucking amazing however

I seriously feel like tumblr wasn't responsible for making a game 'less good' I say they latched onto a bad game as is their tendency

Like if I were to look at the game in a sealed box spare any outside influence I still wouldn't like it because I don't actually know anything about the outside influence I've only seen the game

it was a little bit of A and a little bit of B

the game was average to begin with which is typical of what tumblr likes to latch on to (for example steven universe, uncle grandpa, don't hug me i'm scared, etc.) and the tumblr crowd making up a pretty significant portion of the fanbase basically ensured that whatever fandom there was outside of furries praising it as the next great american game and the porn was a toxic shitshow of fiction-kins sporting gay and trans headcanons for every character

yes i do, that was basically proto-undertale and the exact same shit happened to it down to the kins and ridiculous headcanons and the 'GOAT GAME' even though it was a subpar indie game which only became popular through the acts of tumblr

viral and mckailey were super into it for a long time and basically became its apologists for awhile

Ib is still fine. I play through it every now and again when it's been long enough that I forgot all the puzzles.
I got stuck in a part in OFF and haven't played it since but have meant to get back around to it.

Wasn't even aware there were size-able tumblr fandoms for these games because I ignore tumblr.
