Re: general political shit
the alternative is automation buddy it's too expensive in the eyes of most companies to hire american workers nowadays with all our labor regulations
Re: general political shit
they're going to need to hire people (tech school boys like me ideally) to automate and maintenance the machines and having a crew of people working and fixing the bots is just about as expensive, not to mention the cost of the bots themselves, commissioning 10s to 100s of large assembly automations per factory, put that all in there's little difference in bills
also implying our labor regulations are harmful to anyone
the well being of their workers should always be a priority to a company (because we're not fucking china), which is why regulation organizations like OSHA and a little thing called worker's comp exists.
labor regulations, in the eyes of a successful company, are nothing after they've been soundly established in their facilities.

Re: general political shit
the people who will be hired for those jobs aren't the people losing their jobs though
Re: general political shit
If we're talking about outsourced work, then the people being fired are the companies of child workers.
It would be a general waste of money to fire American workers already working in an American company/manufacturing facility because trump moved jobs back to America - for most companies, going full automation is well beyond their feasible bill, and those potential fired american workers are liable to have a good plaque of experience on their resume.

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/315223-poll-trump-approval-rating-hits-new-low-hours-before
Just over a third of Americans approve of President-elect Donald Trump, according to a new poll released hours before his inauguration.
The survey from Fox News showed that 37 percent of Americans approve of Trump ahead of his inauguration, while 54 percent do not.
Measuring the country’s mood just before Inauguration Day, 60 percent of Americans said “it’s everyone for themselves,” and 34 percent said “we’re all in this together.”
The poll comes at the tail end of a flurry of surveys that show Trump as having a historically low approval rating for a president-elect.
According to an ABC/Washington Post poll released earlier this week, 40 percent of Americans approved of Trump. In 2009, 80 percent of Americans approved of then-president-elect Barack Obama.
Re: general political shit
keep in mind that the inauguration period is usually the period in which a president has most of his highest approval ratings
Re: general political shit
also keep in mind that fox news polling (their actually commissioned polls anyways) is actually some of the best polling there
Re: general political shit
also also keep in mind that trump is only fifteen points off of the 22% floor harry truman had and about eighteen off of dubya's floor of 19%

Re: general political shit
im super late but the whole point of those polls is to take a sample of the US population from all over and see how they feel about issues, they use scientific random sampling methods. i mean three different orgs said the same thing about this i dont get how it could be inaccurate at all. like there's nobody to push under the rug unless in actuality its all useless because all polls are completely inaccurate every single time because not every single human being living in the USA was askedCongo Jack wrote:im not saying how the uncounted people would sway it but it's fuckin retarded to push them under the rug like that (like you just did )george lucas wrote:i seriously doubt the uncounted people make up another 30-40%. point still stands that trump is scoring low in this category compared to other presidents in the past ~40 years
my point still stands that these polls arent conclusive

Re: general political shit
yeah its pretty inaccurate as a us citizen outlook when nowhere near the amount of us citizens took the poll
they dont account for everyone
im not saying every poll ever is inaccurate because they don't ask everyone but to get an accurate result on polls like these, specifically targeted at us citizens as, again, a us citizen outlook, you have to account for all us citizens, and not all us citizens are going to take these polls. it's too left up to probability to be conclusive the way i see it.

Re: general political shit
well thats not how polling works period theres always a margin of error and its known who responds to different polling methods (internet, phone calls, surveys, etc) because they often also collect that dataCongo Jack wrote:yeah its pretty inaccurate as a us citizen outlook when nowhere near the amount of us citizens took the poll

Re: general political shit
you don't need literally everybody to take a survey for it to have a representative sample mac a sample of about 1,000 people is more than enough
Re: general political shit
theres nothing the population of the usa to speak for the usa, thats my view
i think 1000 people isnt nearly enough
i realize its a representative poll and thats one of the reasons I see it how i do
1k people, that's barely enough to fit in a modern small town , let alone be representing everyone else in the usa

Trump to CIA: 'I am with you 1,000%'
Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump, seeking to demonstrate he backs the intelligence community after a turbulent transition, told CIA employees Saturday at their headquarters: "I am so behind you."
"I am with you 1,000%," Trump said after receiving intelligence briefings from top officials at the headquarters in Langley, Virginia.
"There is nobody that feels stronger about the Intelligence Community and the CIA than Donald Trump," he said to applause, noting the significance of his decision to make the agency his first official stop on his first full day as president.
"I am so behind you," Trump continued, adding, "You're going to get so much backing."
Trump made his remarks in the lobby of CIA headquarters, in front of a memorial wall that features 117 stars honoring those CIA officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
"The wall behind me is very very special," Trump said.

Re: general political shit
also donald still has some of the lowest approval ratings, well, uh, ever
http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-first-approval-rating-as-president-2017-1

President Donald Trump's first job-approval rating is in, and it is the lowest an incoming president has ever received.
Only 45% of Americans approve of Trump's job performance over the first three days of his presidency, according to a Gallup survey released Monday. It's the first time a president has received an initial approval rating under 50% in the history of the poll, which dates back to Dwight Eisenhower's first term in 1953.
Another 45% of Americans disapproved of Trump's performance — the highest initial rating in the poll's history. The remaining 10% had not yet formed an opinion.
Republicans and Democrats were sharply divided over the president's performance, the poll indicated, with 90% of Republicans signaling approval and 81% of Democrats disapproving. Independents appear to be split, with 40% approving and 44% disapproving.
Men were more likely to approve of Trump's performance than women, 48% to 42%. The racial disparity was even greater, with 56% of whites approving compared with 22% of nonwhites.
The survey affirms the findings of other polls conducted before Inauguration Day that showed Trump to be a historically unpopular incoming president. Trump denounced that batch of polls as "rigged" last week.
