if the bill passes the senate, and there's no real reason for it not to other than turnout concerns, puerto rico will vote on may 28th between statehood and sovereignty, and in september between free association and independence

note there's no "don't shit but stay on the pot" option here

doesn't do shit other than definitively clear up where the puerto rican public stands currently so congress and trump can take action

speaking of trump he's going to be very, very good for the sovereignty drive which was why i secretly hoped he'd win

the populist democratic party is organizing itself effectively against statehood and a month from now will have a new president who will probably have this referendum on his mind 24/7. when he's named i'm going to shoot him a letter telling him he needs to make it his priority, even go negative in spending for advertisements and drives everywhere if he has any hope of winning

and i'll do my part, trying to get my family members out to vote
