nanowrimo is coming up and with it thanksgiving! it would be really great to have my book done by the end of that month, or at least have written 50000 words more than my current 8000, so i can be a nanowrimo "winner".

i have mixed feelings on teachers telling me that my novel can't be a distraction from my menial and pointless schoolwork but i get where they're coming from

it was harder when i was behind but i won't be behind shortly and november tends to be a pretty coasty month for me anyway

yeah but technically i could coast with a 70 ror my grades will be more vital in uprm for transferring but uprm doesn't relaly have a high bar, with a 3.5 and a 1430 i have guaranteed admission into any program i want

there is no guaranteed admittance unless you set the bar really low

because it's a solid university, especially a solid engineering school, probably the best in the caribbean (in the same league as UTSA and Brandeis U, which are both second tier, but not TTTs) and actually up there in latin america as well (under the best schools in chile, argentina, mexico and brazil), i need to be there for my country and my aging grandparents. furthermore if my gpa is good and i get into a good grad school like ut austin my bach won't matter, and my dad said even if your bach is your last degree it usually doesn't matter where it's from if it's not a TTT. there's really no other place else for me to do my undergrad other than boring ol' utsa since my mom insists on me not going to college out of city (which she has a point on since i'm a year younger and all).

basically it's this or utsa, and uprm is working out better for all of us at the moment because my mom wants to send my little sister to the national blue ribbon magnet high school in the same area among other factors. i'm applying to both though

nanowrimo has begun! i'm on track to finish so far (of course it's only day 3)

i had a teacher who did that or something like that like every year back in 6th grade

we had laloshostowrimo with my latin teacher at least one year- latin something short story writing month- where we had to write a short narrative in the latin language. shit was hard since we were only first years even with a dictionary and that junk. i goofed off on many of his writing assignments, i did one where a russian joins the roman legion and writes about his babushka and shit, and got an 80 which i was pissed about.

so here's my plans for the rest of the month
-finish the homework i've been having to do (and one or two new assignments) before the end of wednesday
-use the rest of the vacation to recreate and write my novel
-be done by the end of november
-if i'm not done, send it to agents anyway; you're really really really not supposed to send it to agents before you're done but i don't think it'll matter if i'm really close to being done and can finish in christmas break at the latest what with how long it takes to coordinate with agents and start looking for publishers and all

keep updated on how that works out

wish me luck and if you want a free copy let me know, right now i'm really sending them to family members, maybe some people at school, some internet people i admire and obviously review copies. i think i get like 10 or something usually plus review copies (?)

rather not, i was thinking about uploading a torrent so people who already pirate because they don't have enough money to get to things otherwise would be able to get to it without hurting my sales but i'd rather not have a direct download floating around the internet that gets copied and pasted to different russian download sites and never dies

igneous has been resurrected! i cranked out almost 5 pages just on a whim- feel good about getting it finished this time
